I don't know whose brilliant idea was this, but transferring our company files to the server in our Minneapolis office was a bad move. The simple act of opening, saving and closing a Word file on the server takes minutes. Just imagine how long Rob's InDesign files take!
My day is already slow and working on the server directly makes it even slower. The solution was to save the files from the server to the desktop and work from there. Then save them back to the server once done. That's such a hassle.
